Must Have Photos on Your Wedding Day
Here is a list of must have photos for your wedding day. Wedding photographers will probably be used to capturing the necessities. Although, with all the hustle and bustle of the wedding day, it’s better to be aware as well.
Wedding Invitation
This is a beautiful memento to have. It tells you the date and where you were, as well as shows your color scheme.
Wedding Dress
Of course, you want to have this forever, but just in case something happens to it. Details of the dress, such as embroidery or beading would be nice to have. This could be hanging on a hanger with a great background.
Bride / Groom Accessories
These details are very important. You should capture both of your wedding rings. Also, the something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue that brides should wear per tradition.
Bride Getting Ready
Show all the bridesmaids with the bride sitting on the bed in their get ready robes. Then after the bride starts getting ready, show the final zip up of the dress and the mom as she puts on the veil. After, you can show the reactions of everyone when they first see the bride. Get some photos of the bride with her parents, flower girl, and maid of honor as well. Dad’s reaction would be great, too.
Groom Getting Ready
He can be looking in the mirror or putting on his necktie. Also, maybe having a shot of liquor with the guys. Get a good shot of the groom with his groomsmen, best man, and parents. The groom’s mom can be fixing his tie or boutonniere as well.
Driving
Take a picture of the bride and groom on their separate journey to the venue. Show how happy and excited they are on the way! Maybe get a pic of them having a sip of champagne to calm their nerves.
First Look
Show the moment the bride and groom first see each other. Some will do this before they get to the venue or at the venue. Sometimes the walk down the aisle is the first time they will see each other. It’s whatever your preference is.
Wedding Ceremony
Show the room empty before guests even arrive. Then show the venue as they start to enter and fill the seats. Make sure to get all the florals and décor, including bouquets.
Wedding Party
Showcase each member as they enter the room, as well as when they stand at the altar.
Bride
Get pictures of the bride in her suite, as well as right before she walks down the aisle. Show her coming down the aisle, as well as the expression on the groom’s face when she does. Also, the reactions of all the seated guests and bridal party.
Altar
Make sure to show the bride and groom each exchanging their vows as well as rings. Also, when they say, “I Do” and of course their first kiss. Show the crowds excitement and applause.
Reception Venue
Show this room before guests arrive. Include all the décor such as table centerpieces and place settings. Include their unique seating chart as well. Then you can show guests as they are entering the room and seated.
Entrance
Make sure to caption the fun entrances of the wedding party, as well as the grand entrance of the new couple.
Party Time
This will include the cutting of the cake before and after. Don’t forget to make sure it gets all over their faces! Photos of all the guests that are making toast would be nice, too. Capture their first dance as well as the mother/son and father/daughter dances. Get all the guests partying once they join in and fun, lively music is playing!
Finale
The final song as well as the grand exit should be the final batch of photos. Take pictures of the final song on the DJs computer, as well as everyone dancing. The grand exit might involve sparklers or rice throwing, as well as the couple driving off. Sometimes the vehicle will say “just married.” Make sure to capture that!
Don’t be afraid to speak up when you see a photo opportunity that might be outside of the norm. It’s your day!
