There is some proper etiquette to follow when responding to a wedding invite.

RSVP Date

You will first need a headcount to give to the catering company or venue. Try to make the RSVP date earlier than you need, as some people like to wait until last minute. Especially if responses are being mailed (although most are going digital). A ten day difference should suffice. Guests need time to plan, especially if the location is somewhere far away. Invitations should be sent 3-5 weeks in advance.

Make it Easy

Invitations should be easy to RSVP to, no matter what form they are in. Make sure the date is easy to read. If you are going the paper route, include a pre-stamped and addressed envelope. Of course, digital would be the simplest way to do it, but not everyone you invite will be technilogically savvy.

Final RSVP Reminders

You should try and remind guests to RSVP a few days before the deadline. This can be done through a quick call, text, or email. If they don’t respond, take it as they may not be interested. You will still have an amazing time with everyone else who attends.

Final Number

You can expect that some people still show up, even if they said no. It might be wise to add a few extra people to the final headcount for your catering company.
