The Week Before Your Wedding

Even when you spend months or years planning a wedding, the week prior can still be very hectic. To better prepare for your big day, here is a look at some of the last minute touches.

Check the Weather Forecast

You can get a better idea of what the weather will be like on your wedding day if you look the week before. There might need to be some adjustments made if you see rain coming and you are having an outdoor wedding. If it is indoors, you don’t need to worry as much. Just make sure that you can properly keep covered on your walk to and from your transportation.

Focus On Your Sleep

Weddings can last pretty long sometimes, so it is important to get adequate sleep the week of and especially the night before. Bachelor/Bachelorette parties should probably be done before the week of as well, to ensure you are full recovered. Maybe book a nice relaxing couples massage in the days before your big day.

Practice Your Vows

You want to be prepared since it can be a bit nerve wrecking getting up in front of everyone. There is nothing wrong with reading notes, but you want to at least have some idea of what you are going to be saying ahead of time. You should keep it short and sweet, but also not miss anything important.

Gather the Bridesmaids and Groomsmen for a Team Meeting

Double check that everyone is on the same page, knows their roles, where they are going, etc. Guys should make sure they have their suits, the ring, and a speech prepared. Bridesmaids should know where they need to be on the day and understand the ceremony timings.

Drop Off Items at the Venue

Many venues (like ours) are okay with you dropping things off in advance. Just make sure ahead of time before doing so. You can avoid less hassle the day of and less chance of forgetting something when it’s too late.

Print Out Your Place Cards

Make sure these are done in advance so everyone knows where they are sitting. Someone who was sitting together originally might not be getting along maybe you want someone to get to know each other a little better.

Prepare Payments

Write all your necessary checks for vendors ahead of time. You can hand them out that day if you still need to. You want to go on your honeymoon soon after the wedding and not have to worry about the money you still might owe.

Send Off Your Required Photo Shoot List

Avoid wasting time micro-managing your photographer. Give them an idea of what you want done in advance so everything runs more smoothly. Take a look at past wedding photos and show examples of exactly what you want to recreate!

Tell Caterers the Final Headcount

Headcounts can change leading up to the wedding. Some people might get sick, or you might even add guests. Ask the caterers how much notice they need for changing guest counts.

Test Your Look

Don’t wait until the day of to test your completed look. Do a full on dress rehearsal with complete hair and makeup, exactly how you want it to look that day. Take a walk in the dress as if you were walking down the aisle. Make sure it is comfortable to move around in, as well as the heels you’re wearing.

We hope that helps prepare you a little more for your big day!
