Unique Groom Outfit Ideas

Let’s face it, most grooms are thrilled to marry you, but not always so thrilled with all the stress that comes along with the planning and execution for your big day. Try introducing some fun new looks that will get them excited about their big day! The classic black suit with a white shirt never goes out of style, but it might not really scream your husband’s personality or individuality. Here are some ideas to change it up a bit.

Unique Fabrics & Colors

Velvet has become increasingly popular. It adds texture and really stands out if it’s an interesting color, like dark green or burgundy. You can also go back to basics with navy or black. Other textured suits are fun, too. Such as floral patterns that are raised off the fabric but still in one color.

Pastel jackets would be great for a spring wedding, especially if outdoors. A white jacket has become increasingly popular as well. It is very sophisticated and elegant. This will allow the groom to really standout from the groomsmen.

Fun Ties

A tie can really reflect your husband’s personality. They might choose a bold funky pattern, or something more sophisticated. There are many different colors, patterns, and fabrics to choose from.

Bolo Ties

A bolo tie joins two ends of cord with an ornamental clasp. This gives off a cowboy look that would be good for a groom that is into the country look. It is a little more laid back, but still dressy.

Bold Print or Color

If you really want to turn heads, go for a bold print or color that will truly make you stand out. If your groom had a fun, outgoing personality, this one is for them. This would work well for a summertime wedding.

All Black

A complete monochrome look, such as all black, would be very sleek and elegant. You can play with texture and pattern as well. Maybe add a contrasting pocket square for a pop of color.

Gold Jacket

A gold jacket would pair nicely with black. Replace a black jacket with gold for an unexpected look. This would be especially nice for a Gatsby themed/art deco wedding.

No Jacket

Going jacket-less might be necessary for a summer wedding in a warmer climate. A short-sleeved dress shirt would allow your hubby to stay cool as well. Compliment it with a fun bowtie and suspenders. If he is a little quirky, this is definitely fitting. You can also top it off with a fun hat.
